Piece number 86 (05/25/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of ‘Cars’. This was finished at 11;59 - just under the buzzer. At 11:30ish I saw I was not going to make it and made some modifications to the original sketch - but I think it turned out quite well in the end (even with some shifting after glueing).

Piece number 85(05/24/07). I am exhausted today - had problems concentrating. It took me 5 tries to get the signature correct. Taurus is an earth sign and the ‘official colors’ are pale blue, green, and mauve so those are represented.

Piece number 84(05/23/07). Well I think it is obvious again where this idea came from. No real reason I choose Aries today though. Aries is a fire sign which is why there the flames on the left. The ‘official colors’ for Aries is red, white, and pink so those are represented as well. Now my husband is an Aries - and he just shook his head at this color combo.

Sorry about not doing a piece yesterday. I developed a headache at about 11am that never went away, I was also sensitive to light. I never made it into my studio and spent the night in bed with a cold washcloth on my head.

Piece number 83(05/21/07). Well I think it is obvious where this idea came from. I thought Pisces was appropriate for today - last night one my fish (a dragonfish) had a wound on it - it appears our ginormous plecostamous gave the dragonfish a hickey - it is the strangest fish related thing I have ever seen. We are giving the tank treatment and right now everything appears to be good.
I have done research on the signs to get different things incorporated. This (and scorpio) are both water sign which is why there is the wave-like detail on the left. The ‘official colors’ for Pisces is silver, pale green, and pink so those are represented as well. I do not follow astronomy, so all this is new to me!
