One a (week)day: Day 80 – Microphone

Piece number 80 (05/16/07). On Monday a friend passed away – this piece is in honor of him. He was the singer in a local band and was really a good person. He has spent the last 1.5 years fighting Hodgkins Disease – he put up a damn good fight. He will be missed.

4″x 6″:: The original piece is not for sale. Limited edition glicee prints of 100 pieces will be available for $40 (unframed) with the proceeds going to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If you are interested in a framed print, I will be happy to provide a quote.

Piece number 79 (05/15/07). This was suggested by husband when I was trying to think of a topic for today and getting frustrated. He has these great headphones which are really interesting to me – esp. the cord. If these did not have a cord like this, I would have passed on the subject. This is another piece I completed right before the buzzer.

One a (week)day: Day 78 – Manual (in red)

Piece number 78 (05/14/07). Today I had a proud moment – I moved my husband’s car all by myself. Now I know this sounds like a lame accomplishment, but his car is a MANUAL! This was my first time driving a manual w/o any supervision – my last manual lesson (have had 3 total) was in November. Now I did stall out, but I got the car parked well in a space!

Piece number 77 (05/11/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of ‘citrus’. Just wanted to do something bright and cheery. Though now I have a craving for popsicles!

One a (week)day: Day 76 – Monkey

Piece number 76 (05/10/07). Now I know my niece went to the monkey house – she talked about a mommy and baby gorilla and I think she said something resembling chimpanzee. I like using animals as subjects – I found this photo at the National Geographic website and it was it.

One a (week)day: Day 75 – Elephant

Piece number 75 (05/09/07). I am again unmotivated. But after listening to my 2.5 year old niece talk about her first trip to the zoo – I knew I wanted to make an animal. Now I could not really understand anything my niece said (she tends to talk really fast on the phone), but I am sure she saw the elephants. This piece did make me smile – I named him Sharpie! I am also planning a field trip for myself to go to the zoo to get some good photos to create work from.

Another Medical Day

Sorry for not being able to do an artwork today. I woke up this morning after a hard week and did something to my right arm – my shoulder has a stabbing pain and my elbow is KILLING me and my hand feels weak and throbbing, I can use my keyboard for only about 15 mins before it hurts too much. I am going back to my heating pad….. I will try again tomorrow!
