Getting better everyday

We are back at home base and my dad is getting a little better everyday. He even got his staples removed yesterday.

Now I want to apologize for not creating. While my dad has been improving, I am going to the opposite direction. My arm and hand are constantly killing me – which I had attributed to knitting (my mom taught me and it was a great time to pass the time while in waiting rooms) though I have stopped and my arm and hand have not improved – it is horribly painful. Plus I did something to one of my fingers last Sunday (yes almost  weeks ago) – I either have a minor break or a sprain or something b/c it is pretty much useless – I have not been able to hold onto small items like pencils or exacto knives. This problem is why I have not been working. As soon as I can I will get back to it – I need to create or I may go a bit insane.

Also next week I will be posting information about the 2 shows I am participating in; which will be opening soon.

News is better – but not over yet

We are in hospital #2 and I am in hotel #3. The news is a lot better, but there are still unknowns. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and then we have to wait for the next step in 3-4 months. I know it has been helpful for me to be here with my family during this, but it is hard. I am hoping after we can take my dad home from the hospital and I get to stay at a place for more than 3 days I will be able to try to get some artworks done (and some client work too). No promises though. Thank you for the kind words I have gotten! 

Sorry nothing today. Exhausted physically and emotionally

I have been at the hospital all day and am exhausted in every way, just don’t have the energy to create today. I will work on art as soon as I have the energy. I will know more tomorrow, which will help.

One a (week)day: Day 95 – Suit

Piece number 95 (06/08/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Suit”. I was toying between playing cards and with mens suits – so I compromised! I really like this piece a lot, it turned out how I imagined it in my head. Plus I got touse a few fun colors.

Piece number 94(06/07/07). My day has been dominated by googling and other online activities doing research. My dad is having surgery next week. The surgery is fairly routine and I know it will make him feel better and be a wonderful benefit to him – but I am still scared. Thank you for the kind words…

One a (week)day: Day 93 – Trumpet Lily

Piece number 93(06/06/07). I found this photo while looking at trumpets yesterday and really liked it. Let me tell you my day has been pretty crappy, did not accomplish what I wanted today, my hand is KILLING me (not sure how it will feel tomorrow), and found out my dad is in the hospital. It has been quite hard concentrating and working on the piece today helped get my mind off of things for a few hours. (He is doing OK – but waiting to know whats going on)

–UPDATE 03/06/09 — I thought this is  great fit for the Illustration Friday theme of “Intricate”. I think both the artwork and the subject (a beautiful pocket trumpet) are both fitting.
