One a (week)day: Day 103 – Guitar

Piece number 103 (07/18/07). My husband’s guitar was out and I thought the head was interesting. I had a change in schedule and had a chance to work on this during the am – so I took the opportunity.

One a (week)day: Day 102 – Justice

Piece number 102 (07/17/07). This is another piece I am proud of, though not happy with the motivation. I spent several hours today researching some legal issues. I am hoping to avoid the situation of suing someone. This image is what initially popped into my mind.

One a (week)day: Day 101 – Deadbolt

Piece number 101 (07/16/07). Last weekend my husband and a friend installed a new door for the house with a new deadbolt. I LOVE it!!! I am surprised that a new door makes me so happy. There is really nothing special about this door – except that its mine.

Now this is not a one-a-day piece, but this weekend I worked on a friend’s wedding present (portrait) and here is a shot of the background stained glass window. All the black (leading) is one continuous piece.
One a (week)day: Day 100 [woo hoo] – Discovery

Piece number 100 (07/13/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Discovery”. The first thought that popped into my head was ‘EUREKA’ and a mad scientist. This also gave me a chance to use my favorite papers – the fluorescents. As I have said in a previous entry I always love in B-movies that the substance to be injected into someone is always day glo.

One a (week)day: Day 99 – Mallard

Piece number 99 (07/12/07). On my adventure last month, I ended up spending a few nights at a Disney hotel (have to pay for internet and terrible cable) and they had mallards all over the resort. These animals were so used to people, you could stand within inches of them and they did not seem to care. They are beautiful animals.

One a (week)day: Day 98 – Surgery

Piece number 98 (07/11/07). If you read my posts from last month, you’ll see how obvious of a subject this is. This week working on pieces sp far has felt good, I am proud of the past 3 works. I have also found that when I get so into working on a piece, I forget about my hand pain.

One a (week)day: Day 97 – Departure (into a sunset)

Piece number 97 (07/10/07). This is sister piece of yesterday’s work. I feel in love with a photo of the plane flying off into the sunset. I also have been toying with the idea of using torn papers for certain backgrounds. I think it turned out pretty good. This is one of my new favorites!

One a (week)day: Day 96 – Arrival

Piece number 96 (07/09/07). I have returned home. It was a long and very hard trip, but things are going well with improvements everyday. I was glad I was able to be there for my family. Though I am glad to be back home with mine as well.
I did miss working, my hand is in a lot of pain and right now I am incredibly sweaty but it is worth it! (99 degrees in a house w/ no A/C and my art room can’t have a fan or I would blow all my teeny tiny pieces of paper all over the place). This piece was the first one I had planned to do while I was away.
