One a (week)day: Day 131 – Alphabet
Piece number 131 (08/31/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Alphabets”. Still with the instinct on this one. It may come from having a mother who is a reading coach or a sister with a 3-year old, who knows. I am a lot happier with this piece and in a better mood overall.
Anyone remember the letter people? This might be aging me, but they were the best – little inflatable characters for each letter in the alphabet so you can play and learn at the same time.

One a (week)day: Day 130 – Rhino
Piece number 130 (08/30/07). I am again in a ‘mood’. I am just frustrated that my to-do list just gets longer and longer. I was very motivated to work today – and I think it showed and I apologize. Though now my Elephant from Day 75 has a buddy.

One a (week)day: Day 129 – Ladybugs
Piece number 129 (08/29/07). I am in a crappy mood and am frustrated with work and had no urge to do this. So, I figured I might as well do something that made me snicker. I have had this photo on my computer for the longest time – it’s insecx!

One a (week)day: Day 128 – Signs-Cancer
Piece number 128 (08/28/07). I felt it has been a bit too long since I have done another sign in the series of Zodiac pieces. Cancer is a water sign whose colors are white, silver, and orange and has a crab as its symbol. The other zodiac pieces already created: Day 82: Scorpio (my sign), Day 83: Pisces, Day 84: Aries, Day 85: Taurus, Day 88: Leo, & Day 89: Capricorn.I have also been toying with dong a crab for some time now – so this was a perfect choice.

Also of note, my favorite xacto knife broke – it won’t hold a blade. It took me about a year to break that knife in. I used an older knife for this piece – but am going to buy a new one tomorrow.

Piece number 127 (08/27/07). I thought of this idea as I was falling asleep the other day. I think it might be a bit too detailed – but I still like it.

One a (week)day: Day 126 – Tango
Piece number 126 (08/23/07). This was again an odd theme that was given to me by my husband. Today work was a stressful workday and could not even think about artwork. I am not sure where my husband thinks up such random themes. This is not such a far off theme – I am a fan of the dance shows on TV and I tend to watch the ballroom competitions frequently.

One a (week)day: Day 125 – Ringo
Piece number 125 (08/22/07). I won’t normally do portrait based pieces for this group, but this one is special. Sadly, one of my sister’s dog has cancer and does not have much time left with us. She wanted a portrait of him with her daughter and I really wanted to get it done before he passes. I am sad about this, he is a good dog.

One a (week)day: Day 124 – Rooster
Piece number 124 (08/21/07). So, here was my train of thought for today’s work. I am still feeling yucky and made a yummy chicken soup for dinner. Now looking around the internet I found roosters a bit more interesting looking than chickens (tomorrow that sentiment may change). So cock-a-doodle-do!!! On a sidenote – my husband suggested a slightly different name for – but I thought that might give me viewers looking for something a bit different.

One a (week)day: Day 123 – Wrench
Piece number 123 (08/20/07). Well I am still sick, though I was with it enough today to function somewhat like a normal person would and I thought it was safe to use my knife again. I am happy with how it turned out – the colors match my mood, a bit drab but want to feel good and be happy.

One a (week)day: Day 122 – Captain
Piece number 122 (08/17/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Captain”. Again I went with my first instinct. At my last desk job there was a guy who would wear a captain hat all the time, I never knew his name – just called him “The Captain” for 4 years. To make matters better last weekend I met a captain of sailboat.
