Still sick

I am still sick. I have a lovely head cold. My day was spent being uncomfortable with tissues up my nose. (I tell you I am a real winner) Between the sneezing and the uncomfortable body aches I was able to get some sleep and a bit of work done. Though with all the sneezing using a knife is not a smart idea. I am hoping to feel better tomorrow!

One a (week)day: Day 121 – Radish

Piece number 121 (08/14/07). Today I was struggling for a theme and the husband declared “YOUR THEME WILL BE RADISH”. At first I was like what kind of theme is this. Then I started to think about radishes and they are quite interesting. I wanted to do something a bit different than Day 34: Garlic so I thought this triptych was an interesting idea.

One a (week)day: Day 120 – Butterfly 2

Piece number 120 (08/13/07). I was in a foul mood today due to a headache which I have had for over 24 hrs. I wanted to do something pretty and our neighborhood has had a ton of butterflies recently. I figured something pretty would make me feel better – it did not! A Tylenol did though…. (Sadly I can’t take pain killers unless I really need them – they have a bad reactions with another Rx I am on) Each wing is one continuous piece and they each have the black inset cut framing an iridescent wing.

One a (week)day: Day 119 – Emergency

Piece number 119 (08/10/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Emergency”. This is the only thing I was able to come up with that was not too close in concept to Day 98 – Surgery. To be honest I like it, but I think I could have done a few things on it better. Though I am really happy with the ambulance doors.

One a (week)day: Day 118 – Mouse

Piece number 118 (08/09/07). This one has been in my hopper for sometime now. I needed a simpler piece today to fit in-between physical therapy and my artist talk later this evening. Typically, I spend half my day in my studio cutting and the other half on my computer.

One a (week)day: Day 117 – Walk on the Beach

Piece number 116 (08/08/07). This is from a friends suggestion. Today was not my day. It took several tries to get a correct signature done and this was the third sky for the piece – the others just did not seem right. The way I did a sunset in a previous pieces was just too overpowering and made everything look off balance. I was happy with the way the water turned out especially the wave crests.

Piece number 116 (08/07/07). I finished my piece early yesterday and could not think of a piece to do. I needed something in place, b/c I needed to start this one in the afternoon – I was babysitting in the evening. So my husband suggested yo-yo and I went with it.

Using this for this week’s Illustration Friday theme of “Entangled”. I could never keep a yo-yo in working condition when I was younger.  So many yo-yo’s met an unfortunate death because of me.
