One a (week)day: Day 151 – The Blues

Piece number 151 (09/28/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “The Blues”. This is much better than last week’s. I decided to go towards the music side with it. This is not a traditional blues instrument, but it came from stream of consciousness while doing some research. This image was my second choice for Day 143: Cello and I am happy to get the chance to use it. The way the head curls onto itself I think it’s beautiful. I know it’s a bit close to Day 103: Guitar, but I’m OK with that. Some other pieces which could also fit into this theme are Day 73: Remember (another IF theme), Day 59: Saxophone, & Day 92: Trumpet.

One a (week)day: Day 150 – Stork

Piece number 150 (09/27/07). Today my beautiful nephew was born – so this seemed a fitting theme. He is so cute (and actually cute – not amorphous baby cute). He is so tiny!!! Mom and baby are both doing well. When I left them this evening, Turner (how great of a name!) was sleeping peacefully next to his mommy.

Piece number 149 (09/26/07). I had plans to do some work on his skin to make it more leathery, but ran out of time. I need to go to bed early tonight b/c I have a big day tomorrow. The theme of this piece came from the art jumble blog. I submitted my info in the hopes of participating, though if I dont get accepted I may still work with the theme of the week they provide. I wanted to do something that related to my day, but I lice a dull life. These themes are killing me…

One a (week)day: Day 147 – Signs – Virgo

Piece number 147 (09/24/07). Another day – another sign. Only 2 left to go until the zodiac is complete!!! This one perplexed me as to how to portray a virgin (Virgo’s symbol) – though I think it was worth the research. I think this is my favorite out of the bunch.

Piece number 146 (09/21/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Juggle”. I think everyone hates the juggling of life we all have to do everyday. Calling people, emailing files, checking the watch to make sure you don’t miss appointments. I am amazed how hard it is to get things scheduled lately. I seem to be doing more work and having less fun.

My paper quilt submission

This is my submission to the paper quilt project. it is supposed to be about a Day in the Life and I did this the day I cleaned the fish-tanks. This piece in real life is 3.5″ x 5″ – the signature is under 3/4″ long, my smallest signature to date.

Piece number 145 (09/20/07). Well today’s piece seemed to be an appropriate subject given yesterday’s piece of Pirate. So who do you think will win in a fight ninjas or pirates? Personally I think it will depend on where the battle it fought. Though if I had to give a blanket answer I would say ninjas, due to pirates views on alcohol. Though please discuss your feelings….

Piece number 144 (09/19/07). AHOY MATEYS!!!! Today was Talk Like a Pirate Day. I threw in some pirate speak throughout the day – but this piece is my tribute. It is also fitting b/c on Sunday my three year old niece suggested pirate as a theme.
