One a (week)day: Day 156 – Open Book
October 5, 2007

Piece number 156 (10/05/07). Today’s piece is based on the theme from Illustration Friday of “Open”. I started thinking about the idea of an open mind and then transferred it into my life as an open book. The pages of the main book were a bit of a logistic problem – the center portion is quite thick with paper layers – but I think it turned out nice.
I have put this piece in for consideration for a spot in the Illustration Friday gallery show in Long Beach, CA at “Open” bookstore and art gallery. If you like my piece please leave a comment. If you really like my piece and would like to see it in the show please go over to Illustration Friday Forums and log in and then go to the link viewer to see the entires and vote for it by clicking on the star. Thanks!

Lovely piece! There is nothing I like more than an open book (preferably open in my hand!)

Way to work the theme! That’s a tough one, but you did a great job. I can’t wait to see the original.

very nice collage, I like the feel of the material a lot! beautiful and elegant. Also nice that the illustration doesn’t have straigth borders, it’s very vivid (?). (sorry for my English, don’t know if I use the right words).
greetings from Cologne!
