Piece number 209 (12/31/07). Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog these last 365 days. Now I know I did not get a piece done every weekday, but 209 works in one year is not so bad. Thank you to Erica for the noisemaker suggestion!

You may be wondering what will be happening in 2008. Well I most likely will not be starting and finishing a piece everyday - but I will still be working everyday. This will let me work on larger and more complicated pieces, as well as handle more of the business side of my art. I am planning on updating the blog daily with the status of works (you can see them in progress). I am still going to be participating in Illustration Friday, and will be starting to participate in Monday Artday as well. Of course there is the blog art book which I will making to showcase all these works from this one-a-(week)day series.
So please keep checking the blog to see what’s up. Also you can sign up for my mailing list- I plan on sending out monthly mails with information on shows and new works. Plus I am seeing if there is a way to send out a coupon for my upcoming art book as well as some other goodies I’ll be mailing out. Also I still welcome everyone to make suggestions for new works or to contact me about special commissions.

Piece number 208 (12/29/07). It’s been a week and this piece is for Illustration Friday with the theme being “Soar”. I have wanted to make a dandelion for some time now - so this was a good fit. Plus I wanted to make the last 2007 Illustration Friday piece a good one!

Piece number 207 (12/27/07). I wish there was some deep meaning to this, but there isn’t. I was not sure of my subject for today when I came across a blog post about a pretzel - and boom I wanted to eat a pretzel. I do not have one to eat, so making this was the next best thing. I wanted to snaz it up a bit, so I went with some fun colors. I actually used the same colors as Day 63: Fortune so this is now its sister piece.

Piece number 206 (12/26/07). Today started out OK, but it quickly turned into a very rainy and gloomy gray day. The activities of the day were good, even though the weather was not. I thought this was a bit different stylistically than I normally do, but I thought it was a fun subject which was well suited for the day.

I had planned on doing a piece today, but I got wrapped up in family fun holiday festivities! I hope everyone had a great holiday with wonderful company, good cheer, and maybe even some presents to boot!

Piece number 205 (12/24/07). MERRY Christmas (to all those that celebrate) I will not lie, this piece was a pain in the a$$ - so many little pieces…so many! This tin star is one of my favorite ornaments from my mother-in-laws collection - we went over last weekend and decorated the tree together. I had intended to get this done earlier today to have a nice relaxing night, but I got caught up in a wonderful holiday classic - “Logan’s Run“. I also had a slight distraction waiting for Santa to come riding by on the fire truck - can’t help it I am a Jewish girl who likes Santa.

Piece number 204 (12/21/07). It’s been a week and this piece is for Illustration Friday with the theme of “Horizon”. I knew I wanted to play of the theme of Horizon being the future. I do think not so far off there will be a LOT more uses of alternative energy. Plus I was always intrigued driving by windmill farms. This also gave me the chance to play with another technique I have been attempting to conquer - sunsets. Wilson - this goes out to you!

Piece number 203 (12/20/07). Today is me and my husbands 7.5 year anniversary of being together. This might seem minor to most, but I think all of my friends (and most likely my family) thought I would drive him away in about 3 months. I guess I showed them! This piece was a pain to work on b/c the acetate I used for the glasses is not the easiest material to deal with. Though I think the hand on the left is the best hand I have completed to date, I finally found a good material to use for unpainted fingernails.

Piece number 202 (12/19/07). I was really happy with Friday’s piece, but I wanted to try and capture something different. “Backwards” captured a graceful strength and I wanted to try to capture the physical muscles in a gymnast’s body.
