083109-pinup6 status

Got the hair started today. Got everything cut out and have half of the pieces textured and put together. Should finish the head tomorrow. I also went and made a fix to one of the skates – to make them more accurate.

083009-Pinup6 Status

So I am a few days behind schedule, but I got the skates done today. They took really a long time, but I think they are worth it! Tomorrow I tackle her hair.

Did not get any work done on Pinup6

So I ended up spending the past two days doing various other things. On Friday I helped a friend frame one of her new artworks and I also made these awesome tiny fezzes. (they were for an event)

Then tonight I went and cataloged all my new paper that were delivered yesterday. I got a ton of new colors – including an amazing green and some new skin tones that I think will work well for different skin colors. I have had a problem finding a larger selection of papers that I think would work well for skin tones.

082709 – Pinup6 status

As promised – she now has flesh and looks more human. I am not 100% sure of the stockings color. I wanted to go with a color that would be what a black stocking looks like when it is stretched over skin – so it is a bit grey like. I think the colors are right – but I may redo them. Hopefully I can get the skates done tomorrow.

082609 – Pinup6 Status

I made a lot of progress today, by getting the dress completed. I had to stop working due to a terrible headache and it was getting hard to focus on the paper. I skipped a day yesterday due to jury duty and a well deserved a nap due to another headache. I have a feeling the headaches are due to the heat. Well tomorrow she should have flesh….

082409 – Pinup6 status

Today I started Pinup6 by working on the drawing and picking out colors. This took me 3x times longer than with the other works. I had to go through a lot of paper to find what I was looking for. I also went and had to place a large paper order – including possible background colors for this pinup and the next 2 works as well. I should have known that it was a sign of bad luck that it took so long today – and I was right….I have jury duty. I don’t mind the act of jury duty – I mind the 7:30 am.

082309 – pinup5 (disorderly) completed

{click image for a larger version} I finished Pinup5 (disorderly) this afternoon. I worked on finishing it so long tonight, that I missed going to a party (just showing my dedication though sorry to Caitlin of Rebound Designs). I am really happy with how some of these parts came out like the lei and the hair flower, I like them almost more than the original. One problem I found is my merge of this image has made it a bit disproportional to the actual paper version. Since I completed this, I can move on to Pinup6 tomorrow.

I was curious about how many pieces it takes to complete the hair – so I counted. The hair is made of 172 pieces in total.

082109 – Pinup5 (disorderly) status

I was functioning much better today and was able to make real progress on this. I got the skirt finished as well as the lei. So right now all I have left is the hair – which I hope to get done tomorrow. Even with the hour I wasted on arts and crafts today I would not have had time to complete the hair.

082009 – Pinup5 (disorderly) status

I did not get anywhere the amount done on this as I had hoped. I was having problems staying focused – I was just in a frustrated – kinda twitchy mood. I was just having issues all around. I was hoping this would be done Friday, so I could have the weekend off – but it does not look like that will be happening. Getting the skirt glued down is slow and messy.

Another note – I am toying with changing my main website a bit. I want to have a more elegant solution for an image gallery. This is what I worked on and would love opinions. 081909 – Pinup5 completed

{click image for a larger version} Pinup 5 is completed. Another piece that I am in love with. I dont know what else to say about this piece other than that.

Another big thank you to  Stacy from Atomic Cheesecake Studios for letting me work with her amazing photos. Next year I hope to get into her studio to get another set of Pinup photos taken of myself.
