092909 – Pinup7 Status

So it was a slow start – but it is a start. I also got my color palette chosen. I also found I forgot my camera, so had to use my camera phone. There is a lot more detail to what I’ve done than is showing up.

So I redid the drawing for Pinup7. Tomorrow I should pick colors out.

092809 – Cymbal Monkey

{click image for a larger version} So I made myself go into the studio today. I was productive completing this work for my friend Todd Gardner as part of my facebook 5. He loves monkeys and robots – so I thought this would be a good fit!!!

The piece is somewhere between 3″ x 5″ and 4″ x 6″.

Taking a few days break

I am taking a few days off from the studio. I am giving my hand a well needed break for a few days. I’ll be back cutting next week!!!!

090609 – Pinup7 status

Today with artful afternoon in the studio I did not get to start on Pinup7. I worked on a small piece for a friend as part of my facebook 5. I am close to finishing it – but I just could not do it. I was getting antsy and just wanted to go home. So after relaxing a bit I worked on my drawing for Pinup7. Once I looked at I saw she was too tall compared to the others in the series, so I had to go back and resize it. Sadly with the resizing my new drawing will need to wait until tomorrow.

090409-Pinup6 (disorderly)

{click image for a larger version} The disorderly version of Pinup6 is done. This one barely fit onto the background paper. I am always amazed with how much bigger the inverse versions are of the originals. I treated this one a bit differently  by keeping some of the pieces locked together (see the one skate)

090209-Pinup6 completed

{click image for a larger version} Check out the larger version to see all the details. After several hours in photoshop and many many scans – I got the work scanned and pieced together. It still needs a bit of work on hiding scan seams with the coloring, but I think it still rocks. I am tired of working on the computer today. I really am impressed with the piece – I love the skates and I think the hair is getting more and more realistic every piece.

090309-Pinup6(inverse) status

I made a lot of progress today- I think all I have left to create are the skates and buttons. I just love her hair!!!  I hope to be able to get it completed tomorrow. My scanning of Pinup6 failed last night, so I am going to try again tonight to get that online to show off.

090209 – Pinup6(inverse) status

So I finished up Pinup6 this evening (picture to come) and I started cutting parts out of Pinup6 (inverse) I figured I would get most complicated work done first and cut out all 150+ pieces for the hair and the hair flower. I am not feeling super hot so this is all I got done tonight.

090109 – Pinup6 status

SOOO very close!!! All I have left to create are the dress buttons. I have the bow for the collar and the skate laces cut, but not glued down. I feel confident this will be completed tomorrow. Her hair came out really well – you’ll be able to see better when I scan it.
