Make and Take Paper Boxes-120509

On this Saturday I’ll be hosting a community event as to how to make paper boxes. After this I’ll be in my studio as part of the Greenbelt’s annual Festival of Lights.

112709-Pinup8 (disorderly) status

Pinup8 (disorderly) is close to being done. When I left the studio I could not find parts of the iron – which is what is missing. Hopefully I’ll get it to find that missing sheet of paper tomorrow to get this piece completed, so I can work on something new on Monday.

I loved how the shoes turned out – super crazy looking.

112409 – Commission completed

I happy to report that I finished this most recent commission today. I hope after it is gifted I get the chance to show it off b/c it looks really good. I am really happy with the end result.

I doubt I’ll get the chance to hit the studio tomorrow – but I hope to get the rest of Pinup8(disorderly)completed this week. Though after than I have another commission I need to complete before I can move onto Pinup 9.

So if I don’t get a chance I want to make sure and say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

112209-Sneak Peek at new portfolio book

So here is a sneak peek of the current cover design for my new portfolio book. The cover may change before I upload it – but here it is right now. I am putting together this portfolio book to showcase the work I’ve done in the past two years. The book won’t be available for sale – but something for me to have to present to galleries and people to see what my work. When its finished and printed I’ll have it in my studio if you’re interested in checking it out.

Of course, my one-a-(week)day book is available for purchase and makes a great gift! (selfless plug)

Book Preview

111809 – Commission

I am still working on the commission – have not gotten as much time in the studio this past week as I would have liked. Hope to have it done on Monday. I am not going to show the commission since it has not been given to its new owner – but I wanted to share this part b/c I am in love with it. It is a technique I played with on the last commission that proved to be very successful.

111709 – sorry no artwork to share

Sadly, I have not gotten time to get to the studio the past two days. Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to the zoo and got mighty tuckered out. (Had a great time!!!!) Today was a workday and had a meeting. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get in there and start cutting.

111309 – Pinup8 (disorderly) status

I did not make anywhere near the amount of progress I had hoped.  I went and did the hair first – which to me is the most time consuming part to put together. I am going to try and finish this piece this weekend, so I can get started a 1 of 2 new commissions on Monday.

I can not sing the praises for Stacy with Atomic Cheesecake Studios enough. I just adore and her work. I recommend everyone to get some pictures taken with her – you will look and feel BEAUTIFUL!

111009 – Pinup 8 completed

I was able to finish this up today. Things went together well and felt good! These past few days cutting has been felt more forced – but this was great. Due to other things for the rest of the day, I did not get time to scan the piece in – as soon as I get the work scanned I will of course post it.

110909 – Pinup8 Status

I completed a lot today – the pinup herself is complete – now I just need to work on the background. I did have to do some rebuilding and cut a new arm – but it all came together well. I am not sure why this piece is taking me so long – I am just having issues staying focused.
