092410 – mermaid Status

September 24, 2010 at 2:15 pm Leave a comment

Sorry for the bad picture – left my camera at home and had to use my phone. I worked on the few extra pieces of hair, made some more seaweed, made a new head and started the work on the background. I see her head in this photo for a little out of position – but the new head is much more correct than the previous one. There are still things that need to be worked out in terms of the body and created some more dimension. But that will wait and I’ll keep her dissembled while I work on the background. I want to make sure the background is not overpowering and to see how she fits. As of right now the mermaid is sitting on a group of rocks with sky and ocean behind her.

the art

All my artwork is made of paper. It is only created using paper, glue, and patience. The works on this site represent the pieces that I am attempting to create each weekday. These pieces are available to purchase and once an original is sold prints will become available. Other work can be viewed on my main site - www.sagworks.com. Larger works are available to purchase as originals or prints through sagworks.com. I am also available for commissioned pieces.
