041914 – Prothonotary Warbler

{click image for larger version} Here is bird #11 a Prothonotary Warbler. This is another small bird. Full grown he is a little over 5 inches, so keeping with the scale I’ve made he is a little over 3″ in this artwork You’ll need to check out the larger image to see all the details. It is always a challenge when most everything is the same color – but I think it works. These birds make their nests in abandoned woodpecker holes – so I thought this was a great setting for the work and also something a little different. Cutting the squiggles alone made my hand cramp – but think it is worth it.

The work itself is  roughly 4.5″ x 5″  || $TBD
for availability, pricing, payment directions, or for more information.

As always remember I am open to bird suggestions! I have a few more birds I am thinking of creating, but really would like suggestions on cool birds. Have gotten several great suggestions from facebook – but please leave a comment if you know of a cool/funky bird. My idea folder is getting larger and larger….
